Ok, so the world economy is based on growth, and in the wealthy west we have long ago reached the level of growth by increasing our standard of living and moved on to creating demand for consumption where there previously was none. That means, we are being taught to think we need all this shit, all the new kitchen appliances, new shoes, new computers, new phones, everything, when in fact we do not need all that. And the excess just keeps on getting wilder and wilder.

Now does anyone anywhere think we have not reached some sort of higher pinnacle of meaninglessness? That perhaps we are not all idiots of a grand scale? That we – the human race – still evolves into something better? I don’t. I think this was my final straw.
