As of today, I am self-employed again. I’ve been working elsewhere for just over three years, while trying to keep my own business on the side, and now was the time to make the jump to a full time entrepreneur.
I have mixed feelings (as usual). I’ve been through this before, leaving a company where I was not just extra payload, and I always feel bad leaving. This time almost more so than before, as I consider the big honcho in the company where I worked to be a real friend of mine. But, in the end it was only one part of a longer journey. My heart was not in it, so I had to bail out before I became a burden.
As for what I’m doing, well, same old same-o. I have my software, a couple of them actually, and I’m now trying to improve them a bit and find someone to sell them. They’ve been selling so-so, mainly because I haven’t had time to work the sales properly, but that will change. I’ve got about half a years worth of money in the bank so I don’t have much time to fiddle about, but I’m confident it’ll be enough.
