Charles Darwin. I’m sure you know the chap – evolution and all that, is what he was all about. You know the most popular idea of his, or at least the most quoted, survival of the fittest? Well, have you ever thought what it actually means?
It doesn’t mean survival of the strongest. Fittest in this case means best suited for the situation and conditions. And that does not have to have anything to do with strength. It may be the fastest runner. Or the one who jumps highest. Or makes best pizza (at a party of carnivores, if you make bad pizza they might eat you instead!).
Remember that. Not because it’s particularly interesting or important, but because one day soon, the nerds will get their revenge on you sporty guys.
